QIA to submit concrete Man Utd bid
Staying with Manchester United, and the takeover process too, as the Telegraph are leading their back page on a concrete Qatari bid for the club ahead of the Friday deadline to register interest.
“It marks a major development in the sale of United which the Glazer family have put on the market for around £5 billion. It is not yet clear how Qatar would square ownership of Paris St-Germain and United with Uefa’s rules banning multi-club ownership should they be successful.
“QIA is a $450 billion sovereign wealth fund that owns – among others – the Shard building in London and the department store Harrods. It acquired PSG through the subsidiary Qatari Sports Investments in 2011 and has made them one of the most powerful clubs in the world.”

A loss on Maguire
Manchester United are set to take a £40m hit if Harry Maguire leaves in the summer, the Mail reports. Both club and player are said to believe that a move away from Old Trafford is the right choice, and having paid £80m for the England defender in 2019, they are unlikely to fetch more than half of that amount in return.
“Maguire returned to the line-up for Sunday’s win over Leeds at Elland Road, but it was only his fifth Premier League start of the season.
“That is simply not enough for a senior international who turns 30 in less than three weeks’ time, and there is a growing acceptance on both sides that Maguire will have to move at the end of the season.”

Real consider Richarlison
Real Madrid are exploring the possibility of signing Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic or Tottenham striker Richarlison, ESPN reports. With Karim Benzema, 35, leading the line, coach Carlo Ancelotti wants to bolster his centre-forward options in the Spanish capital given Benzema’s injury issues so far this season.
“He scored seven Serie A goals in his first six months at Juve and has eight so far this season. The Serbia international is viewed as a goalscorer with room to improve, who could complement Benzema.
“Madrid are also keen on signing Richarlison. Ancelotti was a fan of the striker when they worked together at Everton, but the club recognise that a deal for the forward would not be straightforward, given that his Spurs contract runs until 2027.”
