Marcus Rashford signing contract extension with Manchester United ‘a priority’, says Erik ten Hag
Extending Marcus Rashford’s contract with Manchester United is “a priority”, says manager Erik ten Hag.
Rashford was reportedly contemplating a move from Manchester United whilst playing under Ralf Rangnick; however the England striker has found his best form under Ten Hag, netting 24 goals and recording eight assists in all competitions this season.
“The team is in a good place and Marcus is definitely in a good place. We are so happy with his performances, he is in great form, and he can keep it up if he puts the right energy and investment in,” said Ten Hag in a sit-down interview with Sky Sports.

“Every game we take as a new game, 90 minutes to go, and we know that at the moment, Marcus will be in positions to score.
When asked whether Rashford was not happy before, Ten Hag said: “I don’t know, but from the first day I met him, I said ‘I want to see you smile. I want to see that. I want to see your teeth.’ And we see them often. I think he’s in a happy place.
“The whole dressing room is in a happy place. There is a lot of confidence and belief in this squad. And that’s good.”
The 25-year-old has 18 months left on his current contract with the club, and Ten Hag was open that the club have been working on negotiations.
“Of course it’s [the contract] a priority; we’re working on that. You [the media] sit and wait for news, but in the background, we are working hard.”
