Meghan Markle’s estranged family makes pleas for reunion in TV interview

Meghan Markle’s estranged family shared never-before-seen home videos and made a public plea for a family reunion in a bombshell interview Sunday.

Meghan’s father Thomas, her half-brother Thomas Jr. and her half-sister Samatha said they had not spoken to the Duchess of Sussex in five years but would welcome her and Harry with open arms — and never give another media interview again — if their family could also reunite.

The American trio’s interview with Australia’s 7News Spotlight came ahead of Markle’s father-in-law King Charles’ coronation next week, which the 41-year-old will not attend.

The family members of the reluctant duchess and royal basher was asked what they would do if Meghan agreed to reconcile with them.

The family agreed they would meet with Meghan and even Prince Harry if “it was a real get-together” and not a publicity stunt.

“She would be invited if she came walking out that door,” Thomas Jr. joked before adding, “And Harry would be invited as well.”

Markle’s estranged father Thomas Markle, who suffered a stroke last year, made a “deathbed” plea to reconcile with his daughter, who he feels has abandoned him ever since she married Prince Harry in May 2018.

According to Thomas, Meghan hasn’t reached out even after he suffered a stroke.

“I wish that we can sit down and talk. I wish we could work out our differences,” the 78-year-old said. “She loved me. I’m her hero. And suddenly, I was thrown out.”

Meghan and Thomas had a falling out when it was discovered that he was allegedly collaborating with paparazzi to stage photos that showed him being measured for a suit for her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

Thomas was originally scheduled to walk Meghan down the aisle, but after news of his arrangement with paparazzi was leaked, the Palace announced he would no longer be in attendance.

Never-before-seen home videos shared by Meghan’s family show her first brush with royalty – as a high school homecoming queen – while other videos capture her fishing and dancing with her family.

Thomas admitted he still watches the videos “now and again.”

“Well, we were close all her life. From sixth grade on, she lived with me. And I got her through high school. I got her through college,” Thomas said.

When asked why they feel Meghan would publicly distance herself from them, the trio said they fear it’s that she believes they aren’t “good enough” for the royal family.

“What she told the royal family, what she told Harry wouldn’t have jived, wouldn’t have been consistent with the truth,” Samantha said.

The only member of her family Meghan has maintained contact with is her mother, Doria Ragland.
