Real Madrid offered Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in swap deal for Eden Hazard – Paper Round

Kane out, Hazard in?

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring the opportunity of selling Harry Kane to a foreign club so he does not join a Premier League rival. The England captain has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, who have made him their priority signing ahead of the summer transfer window. However, Spurs believe they could offer Kane to Real Madrid and see former-Chelsea winger Eden Hazard go the other way in a deal that would suit the north London club.

The Mirror reveals: “Kane, 29, is out of contract in North London next summer and this is likely to be the last opportunity Spurs have to cash in on the striker before risking him leaving as a free agent. Their preference is to sell him to a club outside of England and not to a direct rival.

“[Manchester] United are desperate to sign an elite central striker and believe Kane’s contractual situation will mean that a deal is possible.

“However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not keen on overseeing the striker’s exit to a Premier League rival. An exit to a leading European club, such as Real Madrid, would overcome this obstacle and would mean Kane does not come up as an opponent for Tottenham – who are on course to miss out on European qualification entirely this season.”

Top clubs hope to poach Lavia

Chelsea and Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head over the signing of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. The 19-year-old has been recently relegated from the Premier League with Southampton so the Saints are considering the opportunity to cash in on their most prized asset. However, the south-coast club will demand more than £40 million for the Belgian international this summer.

The Times report: “Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Roméo Lavia, but Manchester City, his former club, are not in the running to sign the Southampton midfielder.

“Southampton are expecting bids for their top players after their relegation from the Premier League, although they are not under pressure to sell. They regard Lavia, 19, as their most valuable asset because of his age and potential.

“They could, therefore, demand more than £40 million for the Belgium international. As part of that deal City included a clause that entitles them to match any bid for the teenager.

“City could therefore, in theory, scupper any bid from a rival club this summer, but it is understood that Pep Guardiola has no plans to make a move for the midfielder.”

Ramos unhappy with PSG offer

Sergio Ramos is considering his future at Paris Saint-Germain due to unhappiness over a contract extension from the club. The veteran Spanish defender is said to be unhappy in the contract negotiations with the Parisians, but holds a clear intent in still wanting to play for a top club in Europe. Ramos has doubts over his future at PSG due to the salary offer so may decide to leave the club, but he is unsure about dropping down a level.

Spanish media outlet Sport reports: “The Spanish defender seems to want to stay in Paris and continue playing at the highest level in Europe.

“The Parisian club is offering the centre-back a one-year contract on half of what he has been earning so far, six million euros fixed. An offer that does not satisfy the defender and makes him doubt his future at PSG.

“Ramos is waiting for offers from other teams to decide his future, although he will continue to prioritise playing at the highest level.”

PSG plan to hire Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain are looking to replace Christophe Galtier ahead of the upcoming season and are looking for new candidates this summer. The French club are reportedly interested in moving quickly to find a replacement to pip rival clubs in pursuit of a top-level manager that can help them progress further in the Champions League and bring a settled atmosphere so their important players, like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar will believe in the club’s aims in Europe.

Marca writes: “Luis Enrique is considered the frontrunner among the list of candidates. PSG are moving quickly because they are aware of competition from Napoli, who are also interested in the former Spanish national team coach.

“The club’s current priority is to find a new leader who can continue winning in France and make progress in the Champions League.

“Aside from Luis Enrique, other names on PSG’s shortlist include Jose Mourinho, Thiago Motta and Marcelo Gallardo. Additionally, Abel Ferreira, the former coach of Sporting Braga and current coach of Palmeiras, is mentioned as a potential surprise candidate.”
