Meghan Markle is ‘uncomfortable’ being in Kate Middleton’s presence: expert

Don’t expect to see Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton in the same room for a very long time.

The “Suits” star, 42, is unlikely to see the Princess of Wales, 41, in the near future because the latter makes the actress feel “uncomfortable,” according to a royal expert.

“The Last Queen” author Clive Irving explained to the Express that it’s “unlikely ever to see Meghan in the same frame as [Prince] William and Kate.”

Irving went on: “I don’t think [Markle] is comfortable with them because they’re not comfortable with her. I think it’s basically Harry’s appearances that will matter now, not her.”

He added that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not using their royal status to become celebrities and are building their media empire on their own.

“Harry and Meghan’s celebrity used to rest on the former’s connection to the royal family, but they’ve now been celebrities in their own right for so long that they don’t need to trade on that anymore,” Irving said.

He continued: “That’s no longer part of their lives.”

Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, moved to California in 2020 once they stepped away from the royal family.

He also discussed how Markle won’t be attending many royal engagements anymore as she allegedly doesn’t want to be “accused of embarrassing” King Charles or “being a burden on the monarchy.”

Middleton and Markle have not always been the best of friends, with a rift between the sister-in-laws bubbling over in the last few years.

The Invictus Games founder even described the tense relationship between the two women in his recent memoir, “Spare,” noting their fight over Markle’s bridesmaid dress fitting in 2018.

The pair’s feud will most likely never be mended, according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond. She claimed to OK! magazine on Monday that the Duchess of Cambridge was so “hurt and insulted” by Harry and Markle’s 2020 departure from The Firm, that she’s “closed her mind” to a reunion.

“I think she believed the rift could be fixed and, after Prince Philip’s funeral, we saw her talking with Harry and obviously encouraging William to do the same,” Bond said.

“But we now know that it didn’t work,” she added. “In fact, William and Harry had a blazing row right after the funeral. There comes a point when you just have to accept that happy families are not a game that everyone can play.”
