Matthew Perry mystery woman revealed, speaks out on his death
Matthew Perry’s lunch date before his tragic death has come forward to emphasize that the “Friends” star was in good spirits a mere 24 hours before his apparent drowning.
Athenna Crosby, a 25-year-old model and entertainment reporter, identified herself as the brunette who accompanied Perry to the Hotel Bel-Air on Friday in what would be his final public sighting.
“I am so devastated from his death but felt it was in poor taste to talk about it publicly as the attention should not be on me but rather on him and his legacy and he was an extremely private person and I always respected that in our friendship,” Crosby wrote Wednesday on her Instagram Story.
She added: “But indeed, we were friends and I was one of the last people to speak to him and see him before he passed.”
The Venezuelan citizen told TMZ that the lunch date was not romantic and that the pair met through a mutual friend a few months ago.
Crosby claimed Perry, 54, was in “extremely good spirits” when they hung out, and he spoke “enthusiastically about the things that he had coming up in his life. He was so happy and vibrant.”
Additionally, she claimed the “Fools Rush In” star was excited about losing weight and playing pickleball the following day.
The Post has contacted Crosby for comment.
Perry reportedly played pickleball for two hours on Saturday before he was found dead in his hot tub just hours later.
Perry’s alleged drowning was not the result of a fentanyl or meth overdose, initial tests show, according to reports on Wednesday.
However, more in-depth tests are currently being conducted as part of the toxicology, which can take months to establish an official cause of death.
Perry battled with a drug and alcohol addiction throughout his life. He claimed he was 18 months sober when his book “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir” was released on Nov. 1, 2022.
Perry was best known for playing Chandler Bing on “Friends” for 10 years. His co-stars broke their silence on his death on Monday.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc told People “In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
So far, Schwimmer and Cox have separately been photographed looking somber following Perry’s death.
