Tiffanie Lucas charged with murdering her two young children
A Kentucky woman has been charged with two counts of murder after she allegedly shot her two children, ages 6 and 9, to death inside their home Wednesday.
Deputies responding to a report of a shooting at Tiffanie Lucas’ Shepherdsville house at around 11 a.m. found her children suffering from gunshot wounds, the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The siblings were rushed to a Louisville hospital, where they later died, according to police.
Lucas, 32, was taken to the Bullitt County jail and charged with two counts of murder.
A neighbor who “felt something was off” found the children covered in blood in a bedroom next to a gun on the bed, WLKY reported, citing an arrest report.
Another neighbor told the news outlet she was shocked by the news after having seen the kids just days before at the bus stop.
“It makes me sick, just thinking of any kid getting hurt or possibly losing their life. It’s just devastating,” she told WLKY.
No other details about the case were immediately released.
