I get paid to stomp my feet — I can’t believe my job is real

She sold her sole to Hollywood  — literally.

Sanaa Kelley, who goes by @reelfoleysound on TikTok, shared a video about her job as a studio foot stamper for TV and movies, The Sun reported.

“Why is this a real job?” reads the caption of the video which has over 13 million views since being posted last month.

In the video, Kelley watches a woman on a screen in front of her waking to the edge of a stage. Kelley copies each of the character’s footsteps and taps her feet on a wooden platform to create sounds that will be added to the footage later.

“Perfect,” she says, before the footage switches to her walking on a grassy-looking terrain while watching a character walk in the woods.

She then walks barefoot on a wooden platform as another character on the screen walks on her tippy toes on a wooden floor. In other videos she walks in high heels or even audibly chews food.

People in the comments section were amazed at Kelley’s cool job, some expressing their desire to follow in her footsteps.

“I’d love to do this for a living,” someone wrote.

“How can I get a job like this????” Another asked.

“I wanna do this looks fun a lot of work but fun,” said a third.

The studio is located in Costa Mesa, California and they create sound for film, TV, animation and video games. Kelley did not share how much she makes in her job, but according to Indeed, the standard wage for an average foley artist is about $144,000 a year.

“Born and raised in Morocco, Sanaa is a long-time resident of California and is one of TikTok’s fast-growing stars, with over 2 million followers in one year,” the website says.
