24 Hours of Le Mans 2023: Michael Fassbender loses car in Porsche Curves, careers backwards into barrier
Michael Fassbender lost his Porsche LMGTE AM Proton at the Porsche Curves and careered into a barrier at 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It was the actor’s second stint at the event.
However, his team Porsche had a troubled weekend at Circuit de la Sarthe, with multiple issues for their hypercars. And those issues were compounded when their LMGTE AM Proton hit the barrier after Fassbender lost it at the Porsche Curves.

Observing the crash on commentary on Eurosport, Martin Haven noted:
“Oh, no! That is a lot of tyre wreckage. He has gone in backwards into the Porsche Curves. Wow!”
“It has climbed the tyre barrier!”
It was a tough race for Porsche across classes as their three factory cars dropped out of contention before midday at the centenary edition of the race.
