‘8 Mile’ star Nashawn Breedlove’s cause of death revealed

“8 Mile” star Nashawn Breedlove’s cause of death has been revealed.

According to autopsy documents obtained by People, the rapper died from the combined effects of fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol. He was 46.

The report was received from New Jersey’s Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner and the death was ruled as an accident.

Breedlove died in his sleep on Sept. 24 in New Jersey.

His mother, Patricia Breedlove, penned a statement on social media at the time, confirming her son’s passing.

“Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor,” she wrote. “No one could deny his talent.”

“Nashawn’s departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express.”

“I can’t put into words the pain and hurt that I feel. He was not just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path,” she concluded.

In the 2002 drama, he starred with Eminem as Lotto, a man battling the hip-hop crooner in a rap game.

Rapper Mickey Factz also posted a tribute to Breedlove shorty after his death.

Alongside a clip of him rapping in “8 Mile,” Factz scribed on Instagram: “RIP to one of the few emcee’s to beat Eminem… Lotto from 8 Mile. Who’s friends lovingly called him, OX. You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness.”

The actor’s ex-girlfriend Latisha Harper then paid tribute in the comments section.

She wrote that Breedlove was “so humble” and “didn’t even know he had true fans.”

“He was so talented,” she added. “Not only Wa (sic) he an amazing MC he sang better than Luther. He blessed me with my son @youngzaak and I swear that is Nashawn to the 10th power. I will always be his biggest fan.if yal only knew his talent 🙌 please pray for our strength it is needed. Thank you again @mickey.factz.”

Harper and the singer share a 22-year-old son together, named Zaak.

Zaak posted his own heartfelt tribute at the time, writing: “RIP to my Father. The Legend of Hip Hop.”

Breedlove previously went by the moniker OX, and had made past appearances on other soundtracks. He was also featured on the album for the 2001 comedy “The Wash.”
