9-year-old boy finds jaguar in school bathroom: video
That’ll scare the crap out of you.
A 9-year-old boy in Nova Lima, Brazil, found a growling jaguar in a school bathroom.
According to Central European News, the boy, David Miguel, needed to use the potty during a soccer game Saturday when he came face-to-face with the animal.
“I was trembling like jelly. It went ‘grrr’ and my heart almost stopped,” he told local media.
The youngster said he ran back to his dad to report his finding.
“I thought it was going to be an ocelot, a wild dog or something else. The moment I saw the animal was that size, I ran back,” David’s dad, Rodrigo Almeida, 34, said.
Local authorities arrived at the school and tranquilized the jaguar, who was deemed a young female by the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources.
The animal was released into the wild unharmed.
Veterinarian Marcos Mourao participated in the rescue and said deforestation is causing an increase in wild animals approaching urban areas.
“We know this has been happening due to increased deforestation, large wildfires and the destruction of the natural habitat of these animals,” Mourao said.
“Then, in their escape, they end up crossing into towns and cities.”
