‘Big Little Lies’ star reveals fate of third season

Guess the secret is out.

“Big Little Lies” star Zoë Kravitz revealed Tuesday that a third season of the HBO show will not be happening, reports GQ.

According to Kravitz, the cast and crew were thinking about doing a third season, however, the death of the show’s director and executive producer Jean-Marc Vallée caused the idea to get beached.

“I don’t think it is,” said the 33-year-old “Fantastic Beasts” actress. “We talked about doing a Season 3 a lot. Unfortunately, Jean-Marc Vallée, our incredible director, passed away this last year.

“It’s heartbreaking,” she added. “I can’t imagine going on without him. He really was the visionary for that show. Unfortunately, it’s done.”

Vallée, who was known for his work on “Dallas Buyers Club” and Hulu’s “Sharp Objects,” died in December 2021 due to a heart attack at age 58.

Other cast members, such as Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Reese Witherspoon, have all been vocal about continuing the series.

Dern said to Entertainment Tonight that she is “holding out hope” for a third season.

“I mean, we would all love nothing more,” she continued. “We’re like family, just very lucky. I say, let’s hold out hope. Let’s keep asking. It might just come true.”

The Post reached out to HBO for comment.

Witherspoon echoed the sentiment.

“We’re always talking and texting. But Jean-Marc Vallée’s passing was really hard on us,” the “Legally Blonde” star said to the Hollywood Reporter.

“He was our collaborator,” she said. “He was our friend. He was our brother. So much of that series was born of his imagination and his creativity, so it is hard to imagine a future without him. But there is certainly a deep desire for all of us to connect and create those characters again.”
