Why Jennifer Lopez’s social media accounts suddenly went dark

It’s a mystery in the making.

Jennifer Lopez stunned her fans Tuesday when her social media posts were deleted and her accounts seemingly went dark.

The 53-year-old singer’s profile picture on Instagram — where she boasts 226 million followers — was replaced with a black circle and her feed was completely erased as of Tuesday evening.

Her Facebook, TikTok and Twitter accounts have also changed their featured image to black. However, the “Maid in Manhattan” star’s posts on those platforms have not been deleted.

The expunging could possibly be Lopez hinting at a new project, according to Deadline.

It was reported last year that Lopez inked a multiyear, first-look deal with Netflix. As she is also the CEO of her production company Nuyorican Productions, she will produce both scripted and unscripted movie and TV content for the streaming service.

Benny Medina, who co-founded Nuyorican with Lopez, and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, the company’s president, will also co-produce the Netflix projects alongside the Bronx native.

The “Ain’t It Funny” crooner was also recently on the cover of Vogue for its December issue and dished about her marriage to longtime love, Ben Affleck.

“We were so young and so in love at that time, really very carefree, with no kids, no attachments. And we were just living our lives, being happy and out there. It didn’t feel like we needed to hide from anybody or be really discreet,” the “Marry Me” actress explained to the fashion bible.

The two first met on the set of “Gigli” in 2001 and began dating the following year. However, they broke up in 2004 after they called off their engagement due to the intense media scrutiny they suffered.

Lopez and the Oscar winner, 50, rekindled their love in 2021 and married this past summer.

“We were just living out loud, and it turned out to really bite us,” she said. “There was a lot underneath the surface there, people not wanting us to be together, people thinking I wasn’t the right person for him.”
