California Storm Takes Aim at Midwest

Forecasters predict the storm will slam into the upper Midwest starting on Monday night with heavy snow, sleet and ice, potentially causing tree damage and power outages, and reducing visibility on roads.

An ice storm warning also hangs over the stretch between Nebraska and Minnesota, threatening travel in and out of Minneapolis.

In the South, the storm will most likely center itself between East Texas and Tennessee, forecasters said. It is the latest in a string of severe weather systems to hit the South over the past two months.
