Reanne Evans beats Mark Lloyd in 6 Red World Championship qualifying for first win since gaining tour card
Reanne Evans produced a dominant performance to beat Mark Lloyd 6-1 in the first round of qualifying for the 6 Red World Championship.
Evans has performed well without success in her appearances on the main tour this season.
The 6 Red event handed the 12-time women’s world champion the chance to impress and she dominated Lloyd throughout to claim her first win in the professional ranks since getting a tour card in 2021.

Evans raced into a three-frame lead for the loss of 17 points, before Lloyd got on the board.
The 37-year-old Evans has looked short of confidence when put under pressure this season, but she regrouped to take three frames on the spin to wrap up a welcome win.
A tougher test lies ahead for Evans, as she will face Matthew Selt in the second round of qualifying on Sunday.
Rebecca Kenna and Ng On Yee are two other stars of the women’s game making strides on the professional tour, but they were beaten by Robbie Williams and Tian Pengfei respectively.
Two veterans of the game in Anthony Hamilton and Barry Pinches enjoyed 6-2 victories over Duane Jones and Andrew Pagett respectively.
Hamilton will take on Louis Heathcote in round two, while Pinches will face Peng Yisong.
Peng produced the notable feat of a maximum break, 75 in 6 Reds snooker, in beating Lyu Haotian.
Mark Davis came from 5-1 down to claim a 6-5 win over Alexander Ursenbacher,
The qualifiers are battling for four spots in the main draw, which takes place in Bangkok in March.
