The ‘sky is the limit’ for Jack Lisowski says Jimmy White after impressive victory over John Higgins at the Masters
Eurosport expert Jimmy White believes the “sky is the limit” for Jack Lisowski following his first-ever Masters victory on Monday.
It was a game of high quality in which Lisowski always led after winning the first two frames and finished with a break of 93.

Such a fine showing suggests that Lisowski, who has never won a ranking tournament before, is now finally ready to shine on the biggest of stages.
White singled out his improved safety game and added: “What he does as good as anyone in the game, when he gets in the balls, he knows exactly where the white is going.
“He’s such a great ball striker, a pure ball striker.
“The sky is the limit for this guy because now I think that he’s working with Peter [Ebdon], he’s got that mental strength.”
Unsurprisingly, Lisowski was in fine mood at the conclusion of the match as he finally won a Masters match at the fourth attempt.
“It feels so good, so so good,” he told the crowd immediately after.
“I’ve been here three times before, I think the most frames I’ve ever won is like two. It’s always sort of overawed me but tonight, you know the crowd was incredible. You guys were incredible.
“You kept lifting me, and I feel like I’ve grown as a player. I’ve worked really hard for this tournament, and I’ve broke my duck.
Speaking in the Eurosport studio a short while later, Lisowski reflected on his improvement as a player.

“This venue sort of really exposes you, if you’ve got any sort of weaknesses,” he said.
“I’ve been working really hard, feel like my game’s at a level now where my little bad patches I still survive, and I was able to win the next frame after every sort of bad frame I played this evening.
“Just a mental thing, maybe. Maybe I’m a better player as well but when you combine everything…I feel like a snooker player now.”
“I’ve been practising safety as well, you know? You’re working on all sort of areas and then eventually it starts improving.
“When I’ve lost games this season, that’s sort of always been the department that I’ve lost in, no one has sort of outscored me, they’ve always out-safeyed me.
“I think I’m learning. I don’t think John played badly tonight, I think that I was just clinical at the right times and that’s something I’ve never really done and held it together when you need it.”
Lisowski next faces Hossein Vafaei in the quarter-finals.
