Malo Gusto: Chelsea sign French teenager from Lyon for £30.7m fee, will join Graham Potter’s side at end of season
Chelsea have completed the signing of French teenager Malo Gusto from Lyon for a fee of €35 million (£30.7m).
The 19-year-old right-back has signed a six-and-a-half year deal with Chelsea but will stay at his current club until the end of this campaign.
Gusto, who has been capped at Under-21 level by France, registered four assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season, while also helping his side reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League. He has made 15 appearances for the French club this season.

In a statement, Lyon said the club “regrets not having been able to keep one of its great hopes trained at the academy” but that they are “happy to be able to count on him for the second part of the season”.
He is Graham Potter’s seventh signing of the January transfer window, following in the footsteps of Mykhaylo Mudryk, loanee Joao Felix, Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos.
Remarkably, the Blues may not be quite finished with their recruitment. They have been linked with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, who is also a target for Arsenal.
