Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump in action on opening day of 2023 Welsh Open, as schedule is confirmed

Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump will be the headline acts on the opening day of the Welsh Open in Llandudno next month.

The Welsh Open kicks off on February 13, with the final on February 19, and the schedule for the matches from the first round that were held over has been confirmed.

It is a star-studded affair at Venue Cymru, with O’Sullivan leading the charge in the afternoon session on Monday against Oliver Lines.

While O’Sullivan is sure to have plenty of support, the Llandudno faithful will have home favourites to cheer on later in the afternoon – with Mark Williams in action against fellow Welshman, Michael White.

Neil Robertson and John Higgins are also in action on the opening afternoon against Fraser Patrick and Alexander Ursenbacher respectively.

Defending champion Joe Perry gets things underway against Mark King at 10am.

Those with tickets to the evening session on Monday will be licking their lips in anticipation, as Trump kicks things off against David Grace.

Mark Selby takes on Jamie O’Neill later in the evening, while 2022/23’s player of the season so far, Mark Allen, faces off against Alfie Burden.

Chris Wakelin is probably still on a high following his maiden title at the Shoot Out, and he will await the winner of the clash between David Gilbert and Marco Fu.

Jimmy White will be in action later in the week, after he advanced to the second round when beating Craig Steadman during qualifying earlier in January. The Whirlwind will face the winner of the clash between Michael Holt and Tian Pengfei.
