Vicky Losada leaves Man City for Serie A Femminile side Roma – ‘You’ve been great to me since day one’

Vicky Losada has left Manchester City to join Roma on a six-month contract.

Losada joined City from her hometown club Barcelona in 2021, where she helped them to six Primera Division titles, and the Champions League in her final season.

She scored nine goals from 30 appearances in the last two seasons at City that included a WSL Cup triumph.

“Thank you to the club, staff and all the workers at Manchester City for these last 2 years, you’ve been great to me since day one,” said Losada.

“Thank you to all the fans that have been supporting us every game and helping the growth of women’s football, you are a key part in this.

“And finally, thank you to all ma chicas for all the memories together, keep showing your talent and being yourself!”

On her move to Roma, the 31-year-old said: “I am delighted to be here, I can’t wait to make my debut and begin to meet the fans and explore this city.

“I come here eager to get started, there are so many targets that we want to achieve together.”

During her career, Losada has also played for Espanyol and Arsenal – winning the FA Women’s Cup with the latter in 2016.

She will begin training with Alessandro Spugna’s side this week, who currently sit top of Serie A and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in their first appearance in the competition.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Vicky to Roma, a player we had identified as a top target,” said Betty Bavagnoli, Roma’s Head of Women’s Football.

“Her experience, leadership and quality on the ball will provide great examples to some of our young players and will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of our squad.”
