Manchester United moved to the top of the Women’s Super League after an exciting 2-1 victory over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
United had 10 players on the pitch for the final 10 minutes when Ella Toone pushed over Eveliina Summanen in reaction to a challenge and was shown a red card.

United were the better side in the early stages of the match and Leah Galton thought she had headed in the opening goal, only for it to be disallowed for offside.
The momentum changed a few minutes later when Bethany England began to cause United problems. She had a great chance when put through on goal but fired her shot over the bar.
In the second half, Toone struck the post when she was given space on the right-hand side to fire a shot low and hard, only for it to his the woodwork.
Ten minutes later and United got the goal they deserved when Ona Batlle’s cross was brought down by Galton, who fired the ball into the back of the net.
Spurs fought back though after some brilliant play from England. She darted down the left-hand side and cut inside the United defence, before curling the ball into the corner to score her fourth goal since joining the club in January.
However, less than a minute later, Molly Bartrip put the ball in her own net after a cross was fired across the front of the goal.
More drama followed when Toone was sent off for pushing Summanen as she wasn’t happy with the Spurs player’s tackle.
Spurs were not able to create a big chance in the final minutes, giving United a crucial win to move a point ahead of Chelsea, who are not playing this weekend.
