Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie to meet in ATP Buenos Aires showpiece after semi-final victories
The final of ATP Buenos Aires will see Britain’s Cameron Norrie take on US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz in what should be an intriguing battle.
Norrie, who is seeded No. 2 at the event, defeated Juan Pablo Varillas of Peru in straight sets, 7-6(5) 6-4, to book his spot in the tournament showpiece on Sunday.
It is the latest impressive run from the 27-year-old, who made it all the way to the semi-finals at Wimbledon last year, where he was eventually defeated by the eventual champion, Novak Djokovic.

“It’s going to be a tough one for sure regardless of who I play,” Norrie said, not knowing if he would be facing Alcaraz.
“I lost a tough final in Auckland, so hopefully I can get some good feelings back tomorrow in the final.”
Later on, world No. 2 Alcaraz secured his place in the final – his first after his triumph at Flushing Meadows last year – after the Spaniard defeated his compatriot, Bernabe Zapata Miralles.
The tournament’s top seed, who is making his eagerly-anticipated return to the tour following an injury that kept him out of the Australian Open, brushed past his countryman in straight sets, 6-2 6-2.
While the Brit edged the pair’s most recent ATP encounter at last year’s Cincinnati Masters, the Spaniard owns a 3-1 head-to-head record over him.
