Spurs manager Rehanne Skinner ‘relieved of her duties’ following ninth-straight Women’s Super League defeat

Rehanne Skinner has been sacked as manager of Spurs following nine straight WSL defeats.

Those losses have left the club in 10th position and in danger of relegation from the English top flight.

The season had begun well for Spurs and Skinner, with three wins from their first five games, including an 8-0 thumping of Brighton.

But it swiftly became a winter of discontent, and following the club’s latest league defeat to Liverpool last Sunday, the decision was taken to part ways with Skinner, who has been at the helm since 2020 when she joined from being assistant manager of England Women.

“Rehanne has played an integral role in our development in the women’s game, both on and off the field,” a statement by Spurs Women managing director Andy Rogers said.

“She has carried out her duties with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail, and we should like to thank her for everything she has done for us over the course of her tenure.”

Spurs confirmed that assistant head coach Vicky Jepson will be in charge of the side for their crucial WSL encounter against fellow strugglers Leicester on Wednesday.
