Novak Djokovic took 143 matches to reach 100 wins while Roger Federer needed 169 matches.
Jannik Sinner (138 wins) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (168 wins) are the only other two players to achieve the feat.
Alcaraz also looks set to move second on another list: most Masters 1000 wins before turning 20.
Alcaraz, who can get to No. 1 if he wins Indian Wells, has currently recorded 24 wins at Masters events, which puts him behind only Denis Shapovalov (25) and Nadal (49).
Alcaraz can add to his Masters total in Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo and Madrid before he turns 20 on May 5.
Djokovic v Alcaraz rivalry at top of world rankings ‘great for tennis’ says Corretja
Alcaraz’s first win on tour was against Albert Ramos-Vinolas at the 2020 Rio Open.
“A lot has happened since that first ATP win,” he said after beating Griekspoor. “I’m really proud of myself to have my 100th win on the tour, in like 132 matches.
“I saw I was the second player in history with less matches to be able to get to 100 wins. I’m really proud of myself about that.”
He has a win percentage of 70.6% at Masters 1000 level.
Only three players who played more than 10 matches as teenagers have a better record Agassi (90.9%), Nadal (84.5%) and Jim Courier (72.7%).
Alcaraz’s next opponent at Indian Wells is Jack Draper.
“I know he’s a really good player,” said Alcaraz.
“I mean, he’s playing well. He has beaten great opponents like [Dan] Evans and Andy.
“I know that I’m going to have to play my best, give my 100 per cent on court. I played against him in Basel [and won] 7-5 in the third, I think. It’s going to be a really tough match and I’m going to enjoy it.
“I’m ready. I love playing those kinds of matches. I think it’s going to be a really beautiful match to watch for the crowd, and obviously, I’m going to enjoy the match.”
The match will take place in the early hours of Wednesday morning UK time before Emma Raducanu takes on world No. 1 Iga Swiatek.
