When are the Europa League and Europa Conference League quarter-final and semi-final draws? Will there be away goals?

The Europa League and Europa Conference League have both reached a crucial stage, with both competitions down to the final eight competing teams.

Clubs in either competition will know they are within touching distance of their respective finals as well as who exactly stands in their way.

So when are the draws? Who is involved and when will the matches take place?

When are the Europa League and Europa Conference League quarter-final draws?

The draw for the Europa League quarter-finals takes place at 12:00 GMT (13:00 CET) on Friday March 17, in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw for the Europa Conference League quarter-finals follows at 13:00 GMT (14:00 CET).

And the semi-final draws?

The draw for the semi-final of both competitions will take place at the same time as their respective quarter-final draws.

Will the draw be seeded? Is there country protection?

No to both. The draw is open meaning each of the eight teams can be drawn against any other without any restriction.

Teams can face another club from the same country or a side they faced during the group stage, which wasn’t the case in the round of 16.

How can I watch the draws?

The draws will be streamed on March 17 from 12:00 GMT (13:00 CET) live on UEFA.com. It will also be on BT Sport.

What are the dates of the quarters and semis?

The first leg ties of both competitions will be played on Thursday 13 April with the return matches taking place the following week on April 20.

The first legs of the semi-finals and scheduled for May 11 with the second legs on 18 May.

Will there be away goals?

The away goals was introduced in 1965 and for many years used as a tie-breaker when teams were level after two legs, with the team scoring more goals away from home advancing in the competition.

However, UEFA abolished the rule ahead of the 2021/22 season, meaning ties with a level aggregate score will now go to extra-time and if necessary, penalties.
