Tour Championship snooker 2023 – How to watch, TV schedule, is Ronnie O’Sullivan playing the eight-player event?

We are nearly at the end of the season and, as such, it is time for the penultimate ranking event of the year, the 2023 Tour Championship.

Neil Robertson is the defending champion but, he is not participating as a number of big names miss out on the tournament.

The eight players for the Tour Championship are picked based on the one-year ranking list and a host of big names have missed the cut due to the up and down nature of the season.

When is the 2023 Tour Championship? And where?

The 2023 Tour Championship will take place between March 27 and April 2.

It will be held at the Bonus Arena in Hull, England.

Games will be shown live on ITV and on ITVx online.

What is the format of the 2023 Tour Championship?

With just eight players competing, the tournament kicks off with best-of-19 quarter-finals.

The semi-finals will also be best of 19 frames as is the final.

Is Ronnie O’Sullivan playing at the 2023 Tour Championship?

No, Ronnie O’Sullivan is not playing at the 2023 Tour Championship.

O’Sullivan is only 22nd on the one-year rankings and thus missed the cut.

What other big names are missing?

Luca Brecel, Jack Lisowski, Judd Trump and defending champion Neil Robertson are all also not competing as they are outside the top eight.

Mark Williams, Barry Hawkins, Stuart Bingham and John Higgins all also missed out.

Who is competing?

Mark Allen is the top seed. He is joined by Shaun Murphy, Ali Carter, Kyren Wilson, Ryan Day, Robert Milkins, Mark Selby and Ding Junhui.

Gary Wilson had a chance to take the last spot from Ding, but needed to reach the final of the WST Classic, and fell just short as he lost 5-4 in the semi-finals to Pang Junxu.
