Pat Sajak scolds ‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant

Pat Sajak nearly threw in the vowel.

The 76-year-old “Wheel of Fortune” host got a little cranky when he urged a player named Nicole to just “solve the darn puzzle” on Wednesday evening’s show.

Nicole whirled the wheel too many times for Sajak and it seemingly made his head spin.

The Georgia native was trying to solve the puzzle under the category “Same Name.”

While she guessed most of the letters and every vowel needed, Sajak seemingly urged her to say the answer in full rather than to spin the disk again.

“Looks pretty good to me,” he said, as if to imply she should be able to solve the puzzle quickly.

However, she twirled the wheel again, guessing the letter “P” and the second time, stating a “Y.”

The green letter board then read: “COCONUT & COU__ SYRUP.”

“Ok, um, I’m gonna solve it,” Nicole hesitantly declared. “Please, solve the darn puzzle!” Sajak then yelled.

The answer to the phrase was “coconut & cough syrup.”

She finally guessed “coconut & cough syrup” correctly and looked relieved when she scored the winning response.

But Sajak’s irritation didn’t stop there. “It’s a horrible moment when everyone in America knows what this is but ‘why don’t I?’ But you got it,” he said.

“We appreciate that you pretended you didn’t know till the end you increased the drama and that was great,” he mocked, believing that Nicole knew that he was just joking with her.

Georgia native Nicole earned a total of $28,000 by the end of the show, but she failed to win the grand prize of a Hawaiian vacation.

The longtime trivia show emcee also caused a stir recently after putting a player in a chokehold following a winning game.

Contestant Fred Jackson, who said he is a pro wrestler, deciphered the phrase “His mind is wandering” and Sajak went on to tackle him as a congratulatory gesture.

“I would never wrestle a contestant like Sajak was doing if I was host of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ I do handshakes literally,” someone commented on Instagram on Tuesday.

“Not only another Perfect Game, but another showdown with Pat vs. another contestant,” one person added.
