Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can be ‘annoying’: Ron DeSantis
Florida governor Ron DeSantis doesn’t seem to be on team Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The 44-year-old politician appeared on a recent episode of the TalkTV show Piers Morgan Uncensored and told the Brit how he thinks Americans find the royal couple “annoying.”
Morgan, 57, first asked the politician what he thought of the late Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96.
DeSantis noted that he “respected” the long-reigning monarch and believed she was “really elegant.”
“And I think her stoicism was really good,” he added.
He then explained how there is a difference between the public’s view of the sovereign and the “younger generations” of the royal family.
Reception of the younger batch of royals is a “little more mixed,” DeSantis said. “I mean that’s just the reality.”
As for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the attorney was asked by the English TV broadcaster if he felt the duo were “annoying.”
“I think for some they are,” DeSantis replied. “I mean look, I’m not involved in that… But I think for some Americans they can be.”
DeSantis also mentioned that his book “The Courage To Be Free” took the top spot over Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” in the United States earlier this year.
His comments come amid controversy surrounding Harry, 38, and Markle’s possible decision to attend King Charles’ coronation on May 6 in the United Kingdom.
Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell recently claimed that Markle, 41, won’t be “brave or strong enough” to attend the crowning and Harry could be coming alone.
Burrell, 64, told Closer Magazine earlier this month: “It’s likely to be incredibly uncomfortable for them if they attend, particularly Meghan. Are they prepared to face the music?”
“She’d have to look in the eyes of a family she’s pushed under the bus,” he went on.
The pair have received their invitations to the ceremony and are still pondering if they should jet off to England for the family reunion. “The ball is well and truly in Harry and Meghan’s court,” Burrell admitted.
Royal insiders divulged to OK! Magazine on March 18 that if the former actress and the Invictus Games founder indeed decide to make an appearance, they could cause “chaos.”
The two are allegedly demanding a place on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the coronation, as well as an acknowledgment during the event of their two kids, Archie and Lilibet.
