Gwyneth Paltrow’s lawyer is a viral sex symbol: ‘Law daddy’
A jury may have found Gwyneth Paltrow “not at fault” for a 2016 ski collision in Deer Valley, Utah, but her fans are certainly guilty of thirsting over her dreamy defense attorney.
James Egan — who represented the “Shakespeare In Love” star alongside a team of colleagues from the law firm Epperson & Owens — has become an unexpected heartthrob, thanks to thirsty viewers tuning in to watch the trial.
Egan, 37, helped Paltrow, 50, score a victory in the civil case courtesy of his courtroom speaking skills.
However, many amorous viewers were just as enamored by the legal eagle while watching with the sound down.
On Instagram, hundreds of users swooned over the Salt Lake City-based attorney, including newsie Katie Couric, who appeared particularly hot and bothered by the Clark Kent look-a-like.
“He’s cute,” Couric cooed beneath a screenshot of a bespectacled Egan, which was uploaded by commentator Evan Ross Katz.
Couric’s company, Katie Couric Media, went even further, adding a raunchy remark that read: “Good GOD.”
It’s unclear whether Couric composed that steamy sentiment herself or was posted by one of her equally enamored employees.
Meanwhile, the former “Today” co-anchor was hardly alone in lusting over enigmatic Egan.
The attorney was also described as “law daddy,” a “hottie” and a “smoke show” in various comments beneath the post.
One witty responder even expressed a frisky fantasy involving Egan, asking: “Can he be held against me in a court of law?”
Another saucily stated: “I’d let him ski directly into my effing back.”
That remark was in reference to what Paltrow claimed she screamed at plaintiff Terry Sanderson during their 2016 ski collision.
Sanderson sued Paltrow for more than $300,000, claiming she collided with him while they were both hitting the slopes at Deer Valley.
The retired optometrist alleged that he was left with permanent brain damage in the wake of the crash.
Paltrow countersued for $1, saying it was Sanderson who was actually at fault.
While Egan’s good looks left many swooning, his academic credentials have proved to be just as jaw-dropping.
According to the Epperson & Owens website, Egan received his bachelor’s degrees in English and political science from the University of Utah, where his thesis was named best in his class.
He subsequently attended Brigham Young University’s Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 2014.
He is now a high-powered partner at Epperson & Owens, where he has been working for more than seven years.
In addition to his courtroom career, Egan appears to be a keen musician, describing himself as a “singer-songwriter” on a personal Instagram account.
He also has released two albums that can be streamed on Spotify.
Unfortunately for his legion of frisky fans, Egan is off the market after marrying a fellow musician in 2018.
One snap from his Instagram account also reveals that he became a dad early last year, the image shows him cradling a baby as he sits at a piano.
The Post has reached out to Egan for comment on how he is dealing with the newfound interest in his life and career.
Egan’s sister, however, is thrilled by her brother’s ascent into the public eye.
“James is THE kindest, most humble guy,” she wrote beneath Evan Ross Katz’s Instagram post. “So grateful to have him as a big brother. He never wants to be in the spotlight. So this has been incredibly fun for our family to watch him shine. LOVE YOU JAMEs.”
