Why we tied the knot at NYC courthouse — during Donald Trump’s arraignment

Nothing trumps true love.

Amid the crowd who stood outside the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse ahead of ex-President Donald Trump’s arrest Tuesday were high school sweethearts Chandler Dean and Carolina Treviño — waiting to get married.

“We thought we’re going to have a quiet, very intimate legal ceremony at the City Clerk’s office,” Dean, 27, a professional comedian from Greenpoint, Brooklyn, told The Post with a laugh. “This is all just a crazy coincidence.”

He and Treviño, a 28-year-old product manager in reproductive health, scheduled their nuptials for 3:15 p.m. on April 4 at the New York City Marriage Bureau in early March, having no clue that they’d be exchanging vows just steps away from Trump’s arraignment.

“When we found out about the arraignment last week, we looked up what building he’d be in and what building we’d be married in,” Dean continued, noting his and Treviño’s shock, “It was literally around the corner. Like, a one-minute walk away.”

During his day in court, Trump, 76, entered not guilty pleas on 34 criminal counts, including felony charges of falsifying business records.

He was ultimately taken into custody after being accused of providing hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels, 44, in an attempt to persuade her to remain silent during his 2016 campaign about an affair she claimed to have had with Trump in 2006.

Trump has become the first former US president to face criminal charges.

The smitten newlyweds, however, didn’t allow the erstwhile Head of State’s legal woes to ruin their wedding plans.

“We got to the courthouse about 45 minutes before [our ceremony was scheduled to take place],” said Dean, adding that a few streets leading to the clerk’s office were blocked off due to the high-profile criminal case. “We walked past a number of protesters, but we were able to get through the commotion.”

On his Instagram Story, Dean shared an image in celebration of his big day featuring the hashtag #ArraingedMarriage — poking lighthearted fun at the synchronicity of his wedding and Trump’s unprecedented court appearance.

He and Treviño plan to host a larger wedding ceremony in Houston, Texas, on April 22.

And although their joyous occasion will forever be marred with the memory of Trump’s historic arraignment, the couple, who’ve been together for nearly a decade, have decided to laugh about the coincidence.

“We find it funny,” said Dean. “We joked that this will get us a nice spike of Getty Images and pictures of this big moment [in our lives] from other photographers.”

He added, “We’re just happy to be married now.”

“We don’t mind that this is how we’ll be chronicling this moment.”
