King Charles has only rehearsed his upcoming coronation once: report
He’s waiting for his crowning moment.
King Charles’ upcoming coronation ceremony will be watched by millions around the world, but he’s allegedly only rehearsed the 90-minute proceeding once, according to a new report from the Telegraph.
His dry run wasn’t a dress rehearsal either, as the king reportedly did not wear his ceremonial robe during the single run-through.
The Post reached out to the royal family’s reps for comment.
The coronation is set for Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey in London — just a mere 23 days away. It will mark the official transfer of power to Charles following the death of his mom, Queen Elizabeth II, in September.
The “informal” rehearsal supposedly took place at Buckingham Palace, according to the outlet, on a fake stage built to be a replica of the ceremony area at Westminster Abbey.
The latest report comes after a source told the Mirror this week that the ceremony has been “plunged into chaos,” and that the rehearsal ran way over the allotted 90 minutes.
“It’s all very frantic, complete chaos, to be frank,” a royal insider told the outlet. “There is a plan, which is supposed to be the blueprint of how the day should operate, but things are changing daily, which is causing massive headaches.”
The outlet also reported that there are worries about the king potentially stumbling due to the heaviness of the official robes he has to wear, and “confusion” about whether or not women will be permitted to wear tiaras before Camilla, Queen Consort, enters Westminster Abbey.
It was also alleged that the seating charts were not finalized yet due to the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had not confirmed their attendance – but that problem could potentially be solved soon, as it was announced on Wednesday that Harry will appear without his wife.
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6,” a spokesperson confirmed.
The announcement was made amid tensions between Prince Harry and the royal family, which came to a head upon the release of his tell-all memoir in January, “Spare.”
In the book, Harry alleged that his brother, Prince William, “physically attacked” him during a brawl they had about Markle in November 2019. He also branded his older bro as his “arch nemesis.”
Just one month prior, the couple released their docu-series on Netflix, titled “Meghan & Harry,” in which they detailed their love story and gave their own narrative about their 2020 exit from the BRF.
