Morgan Wallen fan sends singer $4K bill for canceled show
This woman is charging a crazy cancellation fee.
One angry Morgan Wallen fan allegedly demanded that the singer pay her nearly $4,000 in expenses after abruptly canceling his show at Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Mississippi on Sunday.
Mandi Walker Nowlin — who attended the concert with her husband — later posted a Facebook status tagging the singer and expressing her wish that he pay for everything from their outfits to gas, reported The Independent.
“Since you’re offering refunds … here is our itemized bill for you,” read Nowlin’s status.
Unfortunately, she’s received no response regarding getting any of her money back.
Nowlin told The Post that no one from Wallen’s team has reached out to her regarding the list, nor has she been refunded for her tickets.
Her expenses rundown included the couple’s $560 hotel bill, Nowlin’s $120 outfit, dinner at Mississippi’s Oxford Grillehouse for $235 and several other high-priced items — totaling a whopping $3,982.
Nowlin concluded the post by including her Cash App — a money transferring tool — and a snide comment saying that she’ll “expect my payment tomorrow. Thanks bro.”
The Post reached out to Wallen for comment.
“My husband has gone with me to two concerts. Ever,” the disgruntled Nowlin further explained in her Facebook post. “In the 17 years we’ve been together. Somehow I talked him into this one and this s–t happens.”
Wallen, 29, canceled his performance mere minutes before it was due to start claiming that he had lost his voice and wasted nearly 60,000 people’s time.
“Ladies & gentlemen, unfortunately Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight – therefore tonight’s show has been cancelled,” read an on-screen message at the stadium. “Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonights [sic] event will be available at point of purchase.”
Several of the “Wasted on You” singer’s fans slammed the cancellation.
“Completely disappointed in @MorganWallen!! Been sitting in this stadium for 3 hrs and he just announced the show is canceled!!! COMPLETE BULLS–T!!!” one fan tweeted.
“You don’t cancel a show 5 minutes before showtime. Period. If he was sick or had no voice he knew it much sooner than that. Pitiful,” another Twitter user wrote.
Wallen issued a statement on Instagram Monday in which he claimed he was sorry.
“After last night’s show, I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor, and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better,” wrote the singer on his Instagram story. “I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to not deliver it before showtime, but my voice is shot and I’m unable to sing.
“All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could,” concluded the post.
One fan even went as far as to sue the country star for her wasted time.
Brandi Burcham filed her lawsuit Monday, claiming she had yet to get her refund.
“Even if ticket prices are refunded, no offer has been made to reimburse concertgoers for other out-of-pocket expenses they incurred in connection with the concert cancellation, including transportation, lodging, food, merchandise sales, transaction fees and other such expenses,” added Burcham in court documents.
Burcham later rescinded her complaint, but her lawyers said they intended to refile as a class action lawsuit with several other angered ticket holders.
“The second lawsuit, like the first, will seek compensation on behalf of all those affected, not just one person,” Burcham’s law firm Langston & Lott explained in a now-deleted social media post, per Mississippi station WLBT. “Tens of thousands of people collectively spent millions to attend this event, and those affected are entitled to know the truth and to be made whole.”
Wallen is no stranger to controversy.
In 2021, the former “Voice” contestant was banned from the Country Music Awards after the singer was exposed by TMZ for using a racial slur.
Wallen later apologized for using the word saying it was “unacceptable and inappropriate”
