Taylor Swift’s version of her hand injury: ‘Mercury in retrograde coded’
She shook it off.
Taylor Swift has revealed how she cut her left hand during a weekend stint performing at NRG Stadium in Houston as part of her Eras Tour.
“Just got to play 3 insane shows in Houston and I’m waking up smiling reminiscing about how much fun we all had. Loving this tour so much because of the passion these crowds put into it all — seriously can’t wait for Atlanta,” Swift, 33, wrote this week on Twitter.
She continued: “For those asking how I cut my hand, I’m totally fine and it was my fault completely — tripped on my dress hem and fell in the dark backstage while running to a quick change — braced my fall with my palm.”
“It was all very Mercury in retrograde coded. Don’t worry about me I’m gooooood,” she added with a kissy-face emoji.
The Post reached out to a Swift rep for comment.
It appears the injury occurred Saturday at her second Houston show, between the “Evermore” era section and “Reputation” era section of the concert.
A TikToker posted footage from the show, reporting that Swift “lost a chunk from her left hand.”
The clip went viral, with 380,000 likes and 3.7 million views — as Swifties couldn’t believe the “All Too Well” singer finished the three-hour show with the injury.
“Taylor’s dedication is unreal. I cannot believe she performed with her hand THAT injured last night, without letting on that something was going on. We do not deserve her,” one fan gushed.
“WHAT THE HELLLL taylor’s hand was actually so bad how did she even play guitar after this oh my beloved whoever did this TRUST you will be dealt with!!!!” another exclaimed.
“Taylor’s insane bc she performed two nights with her hand hurt and missing a piece but when I get a paper cut I cancel all my plans bc it hurts too much,” someone quipped.
“Taylor is actually better than me cuz i cut my hand like this accidentally and i literally couldn’t stop crying cuz it hurt as hell,” one person shared. “She’s literally a superhuman.”
“No but wtf happened to her hand ????? the cut is so deep and from both sides!!!!!” another wrote.
Swift’s team attempted to bandage her hand a variety of ways: First with a Band-Aid, then with a wrap bandage, and finally, sport tape that stayed on the remainder of the show.
Swift’s Eras Tour — which spans 52 dates, 20 stadiums, 10 albums and 44 songs, taking up more than three hours — resumes Friday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Mercury retrograde started April 21 and ends May 14.
