“I’m so blessed and thankful, I feel at peace,” Richardson said after the race, and referenced her failure to compete at the Olympics last year in Tokyo.
“I had to be kicked out from another 100m race, so I had to do my best no matter what.”
The sprinters at the race also included two prominent Americans, 2022 US champion Melissa Jefferson, and TeeTee Terry, making it one of the most competitive races so far in the season.
Richardson is aiming to qualify for this summer’s key events, the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in July, with the World Championships to come in August.
She is yet to compete at any global competition, having missed the Olympics.
