Britney Spears has A-list stars scared of her autobiography
They’re feeling toxic.
Britney Spears is working on a bombshell autobiography, but the book has reportedly been delayed over concerns among the A-list stars whom the former pop princess spills tea about in the book.
Publisher Simon & Schuster has put the titillating tell-all on hold after getting letters from two of Spears’ famous exes, according to the Sun.
“Britney is brutally honest in the book — there are a lot of nervous A-listers,” a source told the outlet.
“Strongly worded legal letters have been sent to the publishers by people who know Britney and who fear what she has written. There is no movement at the moment, and there are concerns over when it will eventually be able to come out.”
The sweating stars were not named.
Spears, 41, is married to actor Sam Asghari, 29. Before that, she was briefly married to her friend Jason Alexander, 41, in 2004 for just 55 hours before that was annulled, and backup dancer Kevin Federline, 45, with whom she had her two sons, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16.
Her other famous exes include Justin Timberlake, 42, Fred Durst, 52, and singer Howie Day, 42. Timberlake has already been blasted for his role in Spears’ initial downfall.
She was also rumored to be dating Jared Leto, 51, Colin Farrell, 46, and illusionist Criss Angel, 55, at various points. But those alleged relationships were never confirmed.
According to the Daily Mail, it isn’t clear which stars were nervous about Spears’ book, which is said to cover topics including her famous conservatorship, which ended after 13 years in November 2021 and was the subject of numerous documentaries.
“Britney wants this to be her moment she talks to the world, to tell her side of the story and set the record straight,” the source told the Sun.
“There’s a fair amount of throwing people under the bus, talking about past relationships, some of whom will be revealed for the first time ever. Britney lived her life in the public eye, but there are relationships and people she had encounters with who she managed to keep under the radar, including some massive film-star names and people from the music world. She has wanted to go all out with this book and tell her truth, and that’s what has people worried.”
Spears’ book deal is said to be worth as much as $15 million.
Her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, has also released a memoir, “Things I Should Have Said.”
At the time, Britney called her sister “scum” in a scathing Instagram post.
“Congrats best seller…..,” she wrote. “The nerve of you to sell a book now and talk s–t but your [sic] f–king lying…..I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you’re lying through your teeth about me !!!! I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you’re lying and making money off of me !!!! You are scum, Jamie Lynn.”
The book had previously been expected this past February, but is now postponed to an unannounced date at the end of the year.
