Dannii Erskine rumored to still be alive as sister’s story falls apart: report

An Australian reality TV star who had reportedly died in a Melbourne car accident a few weeks ago may not be dead at all.

Doubts have been raised about the death of Dannii Erskine after funeral arrangements had seemingly been organized.

But the funeral home cited in messages said it had no knowledge of the funeral and Victoria police have said there were no fatal traffic accidents at the time of the supposed crash.

Last week, it was announced on social media that Bride and Prejudice participant Dannii Erskine had been killed close to the city’s CBD.

Erskine featured on the Channel 7 show in 2019 with her then-fiancé, Denton Ansley.

Last week, her sister Dee told the So Dramatic podcast, hosted by entertainment journalist Megan Pustetto, that Erskine’s car was T-boned on the way home from the shops in North Melbourne.

Dannii Erskine had reportedly died in a car accident on April 29.

She said her sister had sustained horrific head injuries in the crash as a result of the impact, and later died in hospital.

“She passed away the morning of April 29 at 12:01 am. She will be loved [and] very much missed … It was a horrible tragedy,” Dee said.

“She was 28, full of life and trying her best to move on and meet someone. Now she won’t get that chance.”

Erskine’s family also shared a tribute to her Instagram page, reading “REST IN PEACE Dannii Erskine. 1995-2023.”

The social media account then appeared to then be deleted.

However, Channel 7 said an anonymous source has said “she (Erskine) is alive”.

In addition, Pustetto said that after the podcast aired, several listeners who knew Erskine had got in touch to say they had received strange, garbled text messages from the funeral home about the ceremony, to be held on 16 May, which aroused their suspicions.

On the latest edition of So Dramatic, Pustetto called the funeral home where the text messages had reportedly come from to be told there were no funerals for that date or any listed under Erskine’s name.

According to Channel 7, Victoria Police said it could “confirm we have no fatal or life-threatening collisions recorded in the North Melbourne area in the past month.”

News.com.au has contacted Victoria Police.

In addition, the Victoria Coroner’s Court did not have any records of the death under the name Dannii Erskine.

Erskine’s social media accounts have since been reactivated.

Posts relating directly to the death have vanished.

However, the profile picture still says “rest in peace.”

“She’s obviously not very well mentally but she’s alive,” one person, who also wished to remain anonymous, told So Dramatic.

“She’s an inpatient at a hospital … with a broken ankle and claiming her social media has been hacked.”

News.com.au has not been able to establish the well-being – or not – of Erskine.

Following the announcement of her death, tributes flowed in for Erskine with her family leaving heartbreaking comments on her Instagram page.

“28/04 took Dannii’s life to a speeding driver – An awful accident [sic],” one family member wrote.

“We appreciate and respect wishes we have received as a family.”

“Rest well Dans,” another Instagram post read.
