Katy Perry’s brutal take on Meghan Markle’s wedding gown resurfaces
Katy Perry may “float like a butterfly,” but her honesty stings like a bee.
The “Roar” singer’s comments about Meghan Markle’s 2018 royal wedding dress have resurfaced from a recently unearthed interview and they’re far from pretty.
“I would’ve done one more fitting,” Perry, who performed at King Charles III’s coronation concert this past Sunday, told “Access Hollywood” in an interview at the time.
She continued, praising Kate Middleton’s lace Alexander McQueen dress she wore in 2011.
“Kate won. Kate won. I’m sorry, I’m never not going to tell the truth,” she said. “One more fitting, but I love you.”
The Post reached out to both Markle’s and Perry’s reps for further comment.
The former “Suits” actress wed Prince Harry in May 2018 in a gorgeous wedding ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, England.
Her dress — which Perry didn’t think was up to par — was designed by French house Givenchy and featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and a fitted bodice.
However, while Perry all but completely bashed the Duchess of Sussex in the interview, she did compliment her humanitarian work and admitted that she “loved” the royal family member.
“I don’t know much about her, but what I’ve seen or heard, whether it’s been true or false, everything to me, it sounds amazing and I’m so happy for them,” Perry added.
In January, more was revealed about the 2018 wedding, including the alleged fight between Markle and Middleton about wedding dresses that reportedly left the Duchess “sobbing on the floor.”
This past weekend, Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, made his way back to the United Kingdom for his father’s coronation ceremony on Saturday at Westminster Abbey, marking the official transfer of power to the new monarch after the death of Queen Elizabeth II this past September at age 96.
Prince Harry’s visit also marked a significant moment in time: it was his first visit back to the United Kingdom after the bombshell release of his January memoir, “Spare,” which made a number of unsavory allegations regarding members of the royal family, including about his own brother, Prince William.
The prince only stayed in the country for less than 24 hours, while Markle stayed home with their two kids, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 1, at their home in Montecito, California.
Harry booked it home in time to celebrate Archie’s fourth birthday.
In the meantime, Markle was spotted going on a hike with her two longtime friends, Markus Anderson and Heather Dorak.
She even donned a watch that once belonged to Harry’s mother, Princess Diana.
Meanwhile, just a few days before the big coronation, Markle’s estranged sister, Samantha Markle, gave an interview to GB News, claiming that the couple wouldn’t make it.
She claimed that she had “seen signs” that Meghan was at “loggerheads” with Harry, naming a recent lack of public affection.
“It’s kind of sad,” Markle’s sister claimed.
“It’s telling the rest of the world, all of us, that they are at an impasse and maybe they’re making decisions to part.”
