Although Pouille showed some resistance with a break of his own, he couldn’t halt Norrie’s momentum, the latter winning five games in a row to take the set.
Norrie had a stroke of luck in the third as the umpire missed a double bounce that ultimately led to another break in his favour, with Pouille frustrated by the umpire’s decision.
Pouille looked downbeat as he was broken again but rallied for 5-3.
However the Brit managed to finish the job on his next service game to advance.
