Tina Turner’s husband Erwin Bach seen for first time after her death
Tina Turner’s husband has been seen for the first time following the 83-year-old icon’s death on May 24.
Erwin Bach made his first appearance on Wednesday in front of their villa, Château Algonquin, in Küsnacht, placing flowers in front of a memorial for his late wife, whose decadeslong career brought in tributes from fans, her friends and peers in entertainment, politicians and even royalty.
The 67-year-old German music executive was dressed in all black and wore sunglasses as he tidied up the many gifts fans left in front of their longtime residence.
Swiss German-language newspaper Blick reported that Bach was silent but “drawn by grief” as he “looked calmly and visibly moved at the gifts from the fans.”
“He read cards with interest and carefully picked up bouquets of flowers to place them with other bouquets,” the site wrote in German.

Turner died from natural causes at home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
A private funeral is planned for family and friends, according to a representative.
The “Proud Mary” singer started dating music producer Bach in 1986, eight years after she ended her toxic marriage with Ike Turner.
Turner knew it was “love at first sight” when she initially met Bach, she told longtime friend Oprah Winfrey in a 2013 interview.

Bach proposed to the Grammy-winning “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll” twice before she agreed to tie the knot.
The pair married in July 2013 at their home in Lake Zurich in Kusnacht; it was the “Private Dancer” crooner’s second marriage.
“Erwin, who is a force of nature in his own right, has never been the least bit intimidated by my career, my talents, or my fame,” Turner revealed in her 2020 book “Happiness Becomes You: A Guide to Changing Your Life for Good.”

In the book, she also opened up about letting her instincts guide her into their relationship — and why it was her most significant partnership.”
“I listened to my heart. I left my comfort zone and made it a priority to get to know Erwin,” she said. “That simple first meeting led to a long, beautiful relationship — and my one true marriage.”
Unfortunately, the honeymoon phase didn’t last forever when “The Best” singer Turner faced serious health scares: a stroke, intestinal cancer and kidney failure.

“I’ve been on such a wild roller-coaster in the four years since my wedding that even I have difficulty keeping my medical catastrophes straight,” she wrote in her 2018 memoir “My Love Story.”
In 2017, Turner had a successful transplant surgery after her husband donated his kidney.
“He shows me that true love doesn’t require the dimming of my light so that he can shine,” she wrote in “Happiness Becomes You.”
“On the contrary, we are the light of each other’s lives, and we want to shine as bright as we can, together.”
Turner’s death was first revealed on her social media accounts.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” a statement read. “Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family.
“Tina, we will miss you dearly.”
