Joy Behar tells Sara Haines to ‘shut up’ on ‘The View’
So much for their friendship!
Joy Behar snapped at co-host Sara Haines, telling her to “shut up” during a Wednesday discussion about whether or not men and women can really just be friends.
“I feel like I have a platonic relationship with Brian, our executive producer,” said Behar, 80, referring to “The View” executive producer Brian Teta.
Haines, 45, agreed, adding, “I do, too.”
“Shut up,” Behar joked. “He’s mine.”
Co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed at Behar’s snappy response.
“And during the break before, I invited him to take a sniff [of my neck] to see if my perfume is holding up,” Behar added. “Is that a platonic thing to do? Or a romantic thing?”
Teta quipped in response, “I’m dead from the waist down, so it doesn’t really matter.”
The Post reached out to a “View” rep for comment.
Wednesday’s dialogue was inspired by Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen‘s latest Apple TV+ comedy, “Platonic.”
Other heated discussions on “The View” have stemmed from unfortunate incidents.
Most notably, bowel troubles have been a major conversation-starter — before Goldberg banned the topic.
Several cases of flatulence on the daytime show, heard by audience members and viewers at home, prompted the addition of coasters for the hosts’ mugs, so they don’t get blamed for unsavory noises.
To wit, Haines unleashed a mysterious sound when she moved her mug during a March show.
When Goldberg, 67, asked about the noise, Haines responded, “It’s my glass, every time I turn it.”
“We get blamed for dropping gas, when, in fact, it’s a cup,” Goldberg noted, perhaps redirecting blame.
Hostin, 54, recently revealed on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” that Goldberg does in fact fart the most on set — living up to her nickname.
