Two Americans found dead inside Mexican luxury hotel room
Two Americans were discovered dead inside their luxury hotel room in Mexico’s Baja California peninsula Tuesday night, according to authorities.
The bodies of a man and a woman, both in their mid-30s, were found by paramedics and police around 9 p.m., local authorities told ABC News.
First responders entered the hotel room located in the seaside community of El Pescadero after receiving reports that the Americans were unconscious, police said.
The pair were pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspected causes of death were inhalation of gas, which has happened to other Americans in Mexico in recent years.
The tragic discovery happened at the Hotel Rancho Pescadero, ABC News reported.
The hotel is a luxurious Hyatt property. The company did not immediately respond to an ABC News’ request for comment.
US officials could not comment on the case because of privacy concerns. More information on the victims was not available Wednesday night.
Last October, three Americans were found dead at a rented apartment in Mexico, apparently of gas inhalation.
And in 2018, a gas leak in a water heater killed an American couple and their two children at a resort in Tulum.
