United finished second in the Women’s Super League to secure qualification for the Champions League for the first time. Russo was the league’s joint-top scorer with 10 goals and one assist in 20 matches.
The Red Devils also reached a maiden Women’s FA Cup final which ended in a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley.
Russo was a breakout star at Euro 2022. She came off the bench to score four times, including an eye-catching backheel goal in the semi-final against Sweden, as England went on to win their first major women’s tournament.
England’s first group match is against Haiti on July 22.
In June 2022, Russo rejected a contract extension at United and has let her contract run down.
United and Russo have reportedly been discussing terms over a new contract for the last 18 months, but the club are said to have only met her contract expectations during the last week of the season and it was too late to entice her to stay.
In January, Arsenal had two world-record bids rejected by United and the 24-year-old is reportedly expected to complete a move to the north London club on a free transfer.
