Amanda Bynes placed on psychiatric hold after being detained by cops

Amanda Bynes has been placed on a mandatory psychiatric hold after being declared a danger to herself and others.

The troubled former child star, 37, was placed on the 5150 hold after she turned herself into police in Los Angeles Saturday morning, TMZ reports.

Bynes purportedly called the cops of her own volition to report that she was in significant distress. By law, she can now be held against her will for up to 72 hours.

The “She’s The Man” star is struggling with her mental health, having been placed a separate psychiatric hold earlier this year.

Back in March, Bynes — who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder — was found roaming the streets of LA naked.

The struggling actress allegedly flagged down a car without any clothes on and told the driver that she was coming down from a psychiatric episode before calling 911 on herself.

She was subsequently placed on a 5150 hold and was hospitalized for nearly three weeks.

At the time, the starlet’s ex-fiancé, Paul Michael, told Page Six that she had been “off her meds.”

Bynes, who also struggles with substance abuse, was freed from an eight-year conservatorship in March 2022.

The recent health episodes have alarmed longtime fans of the star who have followed her since she began appearing on Nickelodeon in the later 1990s.

The California-born star appeared on the sketch comedy “All That,” before securing her own wildly popular series titled “The Amanda Show.”

Bynes’ success continued into the 2000s, with lead roles in box-office hits including “She’s The Man” (2006), “Hairspray” (2007) *and “Easy A “(2010).

However, in 2012 Bynes was charged with DUI before she arrested the following year on charges of reckless endangerment and marijuana possession.

That same year, 2013, the actress was hospitalized on her first psychiatric hold after she allegedly started a fire on a stranger’s driveway.

Bynes’ mother was later granted a conservatorship over the star’s affairs. The conservatorship was finally terminated last year.

Bynes had reportedly been living alone since her release from the hospital this past April and was “sad” and “isolated.”
