Southampton have confirmed the appointment of Russell Martin as their new manager.
Martin, 37, arrives to take charge of the relegated Saints from Championship club Swansea City, who he had managed since 2021.
The former Norwich City defender and captain only took his first managerial job in 2019 with MK Dons, but has gained plaudits over the past four years due to his sides’ progressive style of play.

“My aim is to get this club back where it belongs – in the top flight of English football.
“I am ready for this challenge and will give everything to achieve this aim and to give the supporters a team that makes them proud.
