Anders Thomsen feeling in the ‘groove’ as he aims to win again in Gorzow, Poland in Speedway Grand Prix
Anders Thomsen is feeling in the “groove” as he looks to hit form and win in Gorzow, Poland for the second year in a row.
That was Thomsen’s only victory last year and he is yet to get back in the winner’s circle after four races of the 2023 campaign.

“I feel like I’ve started to get into better shape overall, a bit late in the season,” he told Eurosport Denmark.
“I’ve really found my groove, both for myself and my team.
“I think you could see that in Teterow, which isn’t a track that normally suits me. However, I still made it to the semi-finals, and came very close to making it to the final.
“I really pushed myself to the limit to try and overtake [Jason] Doyle it just wasn’t a track where you could easily overtake that night.”
Thomsen threw everything at Doyle in their semi-final but the Australian held on to advance to the final with Bartosz Zmarzlik.
Zmarzlik is currently leading the standings on 70 points, with Thomsen on 23 points.
Reflecting on the track at Teterow last time out, Thomsen added: “It was 100% better than last year. However, I don’t think it was a proper race track.
“It was very slippery, and it was all about getting a good start because there were hardly any overtakes. Along the way, larger holes started appearing on the track, which is a shame.
“The problem is when the sun is shining, the surface reflects the lights, which makes it almost impossible to spot the cracks and holes on the track.
“So when you’re racing as fast as you can on your bike, you’re leaning back a bit, and when you hit a hole, there is a big chance that you’ll end up in the fence or lose your balance and fall backward. So it’s a bit problematic when we can’t see the holes on the track.”
The fifth round takes place in Gorzow on June 24.
The circuit then heads to Sweden, Latvia, Wales, Denmark and Poland.
