Vivek Ramaswamy vows counsel for Hunter and Joe Biden probe

Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said he would empower a special counsel to investigate President Biden and Hunter Biden if he makes it to the White House.

“I am calling for a special counsel to investigate and publish all findings relating to Hunter Biden and Biden-family business dealings,” Ramaswamy told The Post. “There cannot be a two-tiered justice system in this country. If there is going to be a Trump-related special counsel, there must be a Biden-related special counsel.”

Ramaswamy, a 37-year-old bio-pharmaceutical entrepreneur with no government experience, said it was time for the Justice Department to show its hand.

“Public distrust of the American justice system is at an all-time high. For more than 10 years, there has been an FBI investigation into the alleged bribery of Hunter and Joe Biden from the Ukrainian executive of oligarch-owned Burisma. It’s past time for the FBI and the DOJ to show their work to the American people,” he added.

Whistleblower testimony released by House Republicans Thursday said that Department of Justice prosecutor, David Weiss, asked repeatedly to be named special counsel to free himself from outside pressure — but was refused by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

The Bidens came under fire for their history of skirting legal consequences.

Republicans across the board have condemned the Department of Justice’s sweetheart deal allowing Hunter Biden to plead guilty to just two minor misdemeanor tax charges and skirt a felony gun charge through a pre-trial intervention program.

The idea or empowering a special counsel has also been floated by former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, another 2024 Republican presidential contender and will likely become an early litmus test for other candidates in the crowded primary field.
