Team Malizia won the final leg of The Ocean Race 2022-23 – but the destination of the overall title still waits on a redress hearing.
The six-month race concluded with Leg 7 in Genova, Italy at lunchtime on Tuesday, June 27.
Holcim-PRB had led for most of the leg but were pipped towards the finish after opting to stay out at sea for the last stretch.

Team Malizia and Biotherm decided to hug the coast as they approached Genova and the move paid off as they both overtook Holcim-PRB.
Team Malizia led the fleet home while Biotherm held off Holcim-PRB to take second.
“It’s incredible to finish in first place,” said Team Malizia’s Rosalin Kuiper.
“We have done a lap of the world, 105 days at sea, six months of pushing ourselves day in and day out, and to finish like this is incredible, so special.
“It’s been a crazy adventure and it’s good to go back to normal life but we will miss each other and miss being out at sea every day and seeing all the sunrises and sunsets. We had such a good time.”
Team Malizia take five points for the win, while second-placed Biotherm get four points and Holcim-PRB get three.
The three points for Holcim-PRB would move them a point ahead of 11th Hour Racing at the top of the overall standings.
They will have a redress hearing on June 29 when the jury could decide that they are due compensation, such as points, following the incident.
Team JAJO were the first VO65 boat to arrive in Genova on Tuesday.
The Ocean Race 2022-23 concludes with the final In-Port Race in Genova on Saturday, July 1.
