Tour de France 2023 Stage 3: How to watch, TV and live stream details, route profile, on-air time

The 2023 Tour de France is off to a sensational start. After the Yates twins kicked things off with a brotherly one-two in Bilbao, Victor Lafay (Cofidis) staged a one-man ambush to stun Wout van Aert and Jumbo-Visma on Stage 2.

The categorised climbs keep coming on Stage 3, with four more taking the race total to 14. But unlike the opening weekend, this should be a day for the sprinters and a certain Manxman’s hunt for a record 35th stage victory at the Tour.

Mark Cavendish (Astana Qazaqstan) may not have made Robbie McEwen’s top five sprinters at the 2023 Tour – don’t panic, he was sixth – but he will be looking to prove the doubters wrong, again, when the race arrives in Bayonne on Monday.

After amassing 16 bonus seconds on the first two stages, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) is likely to have a chilled day as he plots taking the fight to Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) when the race hits France from Tuesday.

If you’re in the market for some early-race reading, our very own Felix Lowe has got you covered. Head here for his bumper team guide, over this way for his yellow jersey guide and ratings (i.e. Jonas Vingegaard v Tadej Pogacar), or in this direction for his guide to the key stages.

How can I watch the 2023 Tour de France on TV and live stream?

Every stage of the 2023 Tour de France will be broadcast in full on Eurosport 1, while you can watch ad-free on discovery+ and eurosport.com. Orla Chennaoui will again front our pre- and post-race show The Breakaway, with Robbie McEwen, Adam Blythe and Dan Lloyd as pundits.

Rob Hatch and Carlton Kirby will be leading things in the commentary box, with Sean Kelly, Lloyd, Blythe and McEwen for company, while Philippe Gilbert, Alberto Contador, Jens Voigt and Blythe will be bringing fans closer to the action from the back of the motorbike during the race.

Who’s riding at the Tour de France?

Vingegaard and Pogacar will lead the field at the Tour, while there will also be plenty of interest in Cavendish’s bid to break Merckx’s record.
