Mark Cavendish misses out on Tour de France, Julian Alaphilippe also absent from Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl team
Mark Cavendish has been left out of Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl’s eight-man team for the Tour de France.
Sprinter Fabio Jakobsen has been selected as the team’s preferred sprinter, as expected, despite the British rider’s impressive form and his national road race title at the weekend.
World champion Julian Alaphilippe also misses out as he continues his recovery from his crash at Liege–Bastogne–Liege.
