Elon Musk appears to endorse voting rights should be for parents
Father of 10 Elon Musk appeared to support the idea that voting rights should be reserved for parents after he claimed the “childless have little stake in the future.”
Musk, who owns Twitter, responded to a tweet Sunday that claimed “democracy is probably unworkable long term without limiting suffrage to parents.”
“Yup,” Musk tweeted.
The discussion around parents and voting was sparked when another Twitter user posted about the presence of Islam in France. The user claimed a video she tweeted showed an imam speaking about the spread of Islam in the European country.
After another user then groundlessly claimed it was “thanks to the white female vote,” Musk jumped in to say, “The childless have little stake in the future.”
Musk is the father of nine living children; his firstborn, son Nevada Alexander Musk, died in 2002 just 10 weeks after he was born due to sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS.
“Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis,” Musk, who is CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, tweeted last year.
“A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far.”
