Hot on the heels (or hooves) of a super buck moon in Capricorn, the long time couple announced their separation via a joint Instagram statement.
The reality star and the real estate tycoon are allegedly still living together amicably in their shared home as they navigate the shifting state of their relationship.
The two have spent an incredible 27 years together, half of them under the scathing scrutiny of the public eye. Through myriad cheating rumors and other hints at fracture, Richards and Umansky have maintained a united front and a rock steady union.
Most recently the two, ironically or not, celebrated Independence Day together in Colorado.
The duo tied the knot in January 1996 and share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. Richards also has a 34-year-old daughter, Farrah Brittany, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
The revelation of the separation brought to mind the memory of a certain red headed, e-cig sucking psychic in season 1 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills who curtly informed Richards that her husband would never be able to emotionally fulfill her and once their children were grown they would have nothing in common and that she should keep the door open for women.
